How do you choose a suitable lens?
Determine the camera mount
Each camera brand uses their own mount. For example, SLR cameras and mirrorless cameras from the same brand have a different mount. Lenses with a different mount don't fit on your camera. Check well which mount your camera has and which lenses fit.
Check which sensor your camera has
Cameras have different sizes image sensors, where an APS-C sensor is smaller than a full-frame sensor. That's why a full-frame lens often fits on an APS-C camera. You get a small image angle that way. The other way around doesn't work most of the time. Always check which sensor your camera has.
Determine your usage situation
The focal length of the lens determines the usage situation. We indicate the focal length in millimeters, such as 50mm or 24-70mm. The larger the focal length, the more zoomed in your image is. Think what you want to take photos of and which focal length matches that.
