According to our car navigation expert
With the TomTom GO 5200 World, you can drive around the world without getting lost. Thanks to the integrated SIM card you're always up-to-date with the latest traffic information. You update the maps easily over WiFi, so you no longer have to connect the system to the computer. The GO 5200 lets you make hands-free calls, so your drive becomes a lot safer. The SMS messages from your smartphone come in on the car navigation and the TomTom Go 5200 reads them out for you. The maps are equipped with buildings and landmarks in 3D so you always know exactly where you are.

This is the best navigation system available, after having had a dozen navigation systems I think I can say that. I've been using it for a few days now and it works great. Very fast route calculation, even over longer distances. Map quality is very good and after two days the map has already been updated a few times and that simply via WIFI. Saves a lot of hassle. Speed cameras, fixed and mobile, and speed checks are nicely reported.
What is also nice is that works and delays on the main routes are included but, and that is absolutely fantastic, also on local roads, so that you do not have to follow a detour at the last minute. And the great thing about this is that it also works abroad at no extra cost.
The downside is the sound quality during hands-free calling. It sounds very tinny and there is too much high in it so that conversations are sometimes impossible to follow. But you don't buy a navigation system for that either.
Lifetime updates for maps, traffic and speed cameras are of course also very nice. Might as well for that price. Although I'm curious what "lifetime" means in practice.
Conclusion : An out-of-the-box complete navigation system that you don't have to worry about anymore and that always manages to bring you to your destination in an adequate way, even though I sometimes know it just a little better locally.

Really great device, fast, lifetime updates for maps, traffic and speed cameras. All delays on highways and B-roads are displayed, if there are really many delay factors, it only shows the most important. On the screen you can click on such a delay and you will get extra information and if you don't feel like this delay you can do that by simply pressing "Avoid", then it will calculate an alternative route. In the first week that I now use this I have compared to previous weeks about 80% less in traffic jams, I now go into the car smiling. Really great. For example, if you drive into a traffic jam too quickly, you will report this to TomTom as an extra security measure. Attaching the TomTom is very easy on the window or, as I have from TomTom, the Beanbag holder. Tomorrow is a nice ride..... ;-)

We had a GO1000 and replaced it for this model. Purchased on the day of 'release'. Remarkable 'lesser' things: switching between connected telephones (for calls) is suddenly very cumbersome. Volume does not stay at set level after 'sleep', hands-free operation ("Hello TomTom") does not work more often than it does. The GUI is also not quite to my liking. For example, why is the clock invisible if I have no navigation set up? There is still room for improvement at TomTom.
It is also striking that "new" sections of highway (A1, A2) have still not been processed.
But still: in general just good navigation, fast, alternative routes are calculated quickly and the live traffic information is very useful. The most important thing: updating via WiFi, no hassle with bad TomTom software on your PC that does not work, no annual cost, just lifetime free updates via WiFi. Put it on the table at home, ignore the comment about "connect the power supply" and update.
Not a cheap device but definitely worth the money. All the things I'm not happy with right now can be solved with software - and I'm hopeful :)
