According to our car navigation expert
With the TomTom GO 6200 World, you could drive around the world without ever getting lost. Thanks to the integrated SIM card, you'll always have access to the latest traffic updates. The maps are easy to update via WiFi, so you no longer have to connect the system to the computer. The GO 6200 lets you make hands-free calls, making your drive much safer. The SMS messages from your smartphone come in on the car navigation and the TomTom Go 6200 reads them out for you. The maps are equipped with 3D buildings and landmarks, so you always know exactly where you are.
Note: The navigation system only comes with the European map by default. For worldwide cover you can expand the storage with an SC card and the TomTom map updates.

I bought this device as a replacement for my Tomtom go 6000. At the time I was extremely annoyed by the unstable firmware. It was only after more than a year that the device became really usable.
It was no different with the 6200. Unpack, start up and log in to MyDrive: "an error has occurred". After a few attempts I was able to continue. A day later he had already forgotten my login. So enter your password again. From the first minute I noticed how slow this GPS responds. Noticeably slower than the 6000 and 6100.
And then for the first time on the road with my new device. Immediate letdown: The sound quality was noticeably worse than its predecessors. I couldn't bear to hear it and exchanged the device for the 6100 with which my wife goes on the road.
We are now three months further. The Tomtom 6200 crashes every day. After departure, it takes 10 minutes before the device becomes usable. When entering an address, you have to wait at least a second after each letter until the device responds again. This weekend I wanted to adjust a setting and the "back" button was gone. I had to do a hard reset to get back into navigation mode.
This device is in many ways a step backwards compared to the 6000 and 6100: annoyingly bad sound, responds slowly, crashes every once in a while.

Bought because of vacation in France and because the free navigation systems (on smartphone) did not suit. Updating, image quality, sound quality and charging speed are fine for each other. Notifications for zones with speed checks, lane indication, search for places, supermarkets, petrol stations, car parks, etc., traffic congestion and road works are also good. Less: Screen sensitivity to touch and startup. Downright lousy: computer voice, accuracy/up-to-dateness of the maps (in France), stuttering voice instructions, connection to real-time traffic info. What often went wrong: instructions at roundabouts. The number of turns indicated is not always correct (taking the wrong turn in the pitch dark is not pleasant). In Reims, the speech instruction even failed completely. On the map we had to turn left but TomTom played Stupid Stupid. And then with heavy traffic you prefer to rely on speech. Unfortunately. On the way to Brittany from Sees to Domfront we were continuously sent to the left. Luckily we knew the way there well so no, we didn't. It turned out that as soon as the real-time information disappeared, the navigation also lost its way. Very very irritating. Sometimes it took way too long to start up. Sometimes it wouldn't boot at all and had to do a clean boot. Entering waypoints can be done in a number of ways, but there is only one correct: zoom in on the map and click on it. If you do it any other way, the waypoint cannot be deleted without deleting the entire route. The keyboard is very sensitive to tapping only 1 pixel next to a letter and is slow to respond. D-roads in France are all different except for TomTom. So it can happen that you are on a D-road with hardly any asphalt with barely room for 1 car, but also a 4-lane D-road. What would be a welcome addition is to indicate that a time saving of a few seconds via a worthless, narrow road through a busy neighborhood should not be taken. Then rather something to do via an easy way. So a minimum time saving setting for alternative routes would be very welcome. We have tried the computer voice, but the Dutch pronunciation of French places is not intelligible. Finally: we drove from Taden to Erquy in the pitch dark at night and the TomTom sent us via the safest route. And that's beautiful. In short: it is an excellent navigation, but there are still many opportunities for improvement. I just recommend it in this form.
