My wife thought these lamps were too expensive! This almost led to a marital quarrel until her best friend sent this lamp as a recommendation! Then everything was cake and egg! That's why we now have two. In the bedroom this lamp is very useful as a wake up light and with its four light recipes you can easily and quickly switch to a setting that suits your mood. The fact that this Hue lamp does not contain color is actually not a loss. What I am most happy about is that my house now has no light switches, much to the annoyance of my mother-in-law. She can't handle that.

Nice lamp but more difficult mounting

Successful design. Looks and feels quality. Installation on the hue network required entering the serial number but the lamp was easily recognized afterwards. Color temperature and strength can be easily set with the supplied wireless dimmer as well as with the iPad/iPhone app. The main drawback is the more difficult assembly. Provide a helping hand and 2 step ladders. There is no mounting plate that you can first screw into the ceiling from which you can hang the lamp afterwards. You need someone to carry the lamp while you make the electrical connections and then fix the lamp to the ceiling with 3 screws. Could be more user friendly in my opinion.
