According to our humidifier expert
With the Philips HU5930/10, you can clean and humidify the air of any room of 70m2. This air washer has 4 humidification levels and 4 fan settings. The air is cleaned by means of a HEPA filter and pre-filter. In addition, this air washer has an allergen mode. Bacteria, viruses, and substances are filtered out of the air and therefore don't stand a chance. The display lets you check the humidity and temperature of the room. Use this information to turn it up or down. At the highest setting, it produces a noise of up to 53 decibels. If you use it at night, set the air washer to night mode and turn on the timer. This way, it has a noise level of 32 decibels and it turns itself off.
Note: if the filter replacement light starts blinking, you need to replace the filters. If you don't, the air purifier will stop working.Type of humidifier | Air washer | |

I've been using the Philips for over 2 months now and I definitely notice a significant improvement in the indoor climate. The higher humidity ensures that I have less problems with my airways, my skin dries out less and that the heating does not have to be as high (at a higher humidity, the moisture on your skin evaporates less quickly and you therefore cool yourself less hard).
The noise level is acceptable, only on the highest setting is it clearly audible. Usually I have it on automatic, in which the fan speed depends on how far the humidity is below the desired level. Unfortunately, this occasionally results in 'clattering' between position 2 and 3 when he has trouble keeping the air moist enough. If it regularly switches between position 2 and 3, it does start to stand out in a negative sense, but then I either set it to a position, or I lower the humidity a bit.
As for whether he can achieve the desired humidity, it depends very much on the temperature and humidity outside. Right now it's around freezing outside (and it's snowing :P) and it doesn't really get any higher than 40-50% inside. However, that's already a huge improvement from when he wasn't there. Moreover, you can not actually charge the device, because he blows his reservoir (I think 4 liters) through it within a day. That means that all that water has evaporated into the air, which I think is a great achievement. He would probably have less trouble with it in a better insulated house, with me some air still slips in through the front door. My living room where it is located is about 40 square meters, with an open stairwell to the top (where there is a closed door to the rest of the apartment).
As for maintenance, every now and then I have to wipe/vacuum some moisture from the coarse filter. I have not heard of the HEPA filter yet, but I also expect it to last a little longer. The round water evaporation filter calcified very quickly when I just used tap water (unfortunately we have very hard water here). That's why I started to throw in water from the Brita water filter pitcher. I estimate that it has been a month since I descaled it and now it is time again. Descaling is very easy, just put a bottle of vinegar with the same amount of water in a bowl and let the filter soak in it for a while, then rinse well and put it back in the device.
The primary purpose of the device for me is humidification, but I also notice that there is less dust deposits everywhere now that the thing is on. So it is not like some ionizing filters where the dust precipitates extra.
In terms of design, it is beautiful, but it would have been nice if it had wheels under it. Now you always have to move it with two hands if, for example, you want to pass behind it with the vacuum cleaner. The reservoir is very easy to remove (I understand the comments that it doesn't leak, it doesn't for me). Unfortunately, however, the reservoir cannot stand upright when you fill it. I solved this myself by placing it in the narrower part of the double sink, but if you don't have something like this, you have to hold it upright yourself when filling. Not such a problem if you do it straight from the tap, but if you use filtered water like me it becomes more difficult (there is not 4 liters in the jug, so the water has to run through again and again).
All in all, however, I am very satisfied with the device and should have done this much sooner, great! It costs a bit, but that pays for itself in the lower heating costs because I can now keep the thermostat a degree lower without compromising on comfort. And the other health benefits are added on top of that.

This humidifier is very easy to operate via a touchscreen. It has a timer (adjustable up to 8 hours), the fan can be adjusted at various levels, a choice of humidity percentage and you can read the room temperature. Indicator lights come on when it's time to descale the nanocloud filter or refill the water tank. What is striking is that this humidifier works quite silently. The humidity is quickly set to a higher percentage. Once this is achieved, the percentage will continue to fluctuate around the desired humidity. The nasty heating air is quickly gone and that is noticeable. No more dry eyes and headaches. And a beneficial effect on our parquet floor! The device is very easy to clean because of the smooth surface and the touchscreen. The water tank is easily removable, as are the parts to be cleaned. You simply fill the tank under the tap, no mess. I am very satisfied with it!

I was allowed to test this product and I am very satisfied. The humidifier is in the bedroom and that is possible because it makes almost no noise and gives no light. The air in our house is very dry but it manages to get the humidity from 30% to 60%. The only drawback is that it is quite a large device but that is due to the filters and the water tank, so is understandable.
