Don't buy MIO!

Nice device when it works
Lousy and arrogant service from MIO

In January 2018 I bought a new MIO 405HC. A great device if it works… But in March the altimeter was the first to break down (-5 to +5% on the flat, -5% on a +10%) hill. Then the USB connection broke down in April, so that I could only read my data with a lot of effort. When the screen broke in May and I couldn't see anything on the screen anymore, I offered the MIO on May 28, 2018 at ComServe Den Bosch for repair (4 months old, so naturally within the warranty). ComServe was clear: the device was beyond repair and would be replaced by a new MIO. That's when the trouble really started: first this would take a week, then two weeks… After three weeks, I called the MIO Helpdesk: “There are no MIO Cyclos and/or repair parts available for customers with a defective MIO. Stores are, of course, supplied with new devices, but customers who have a faulty device have to sort it out: not a priority. Waiting time unknown, but at least another 3 weeks. Then please call again…”. Fantastic customer-oriented service from MIO! I should have known better (my previous MIO Cyclo was also completely defective after 3 years, after being repaired even after 1 year) but now I know for sure. Advice for everyone: DO NOT BUY MIO!! I did a 70 km bike ride and only had 30% battery capacity left! It was in the spring and cold and damp, which kept the GPS blocked and it was no longer possible to navigate between different screens.
