Due to an attempted burglary, I went looking for a decent camera. By default you end up with the larger brands, but on technical sites you see Dahua more and more prominently. So my choice is on these cases.

After opening the package you immediately know that it is a solid device. everything is firmly put together. The dome is even equipped with anti-moisture bags. You connect the camera to your modem, scan the barcode on the box with your mobile, and it automatically appears in your app. The app works very well and has the basic functions (alerting and configuration etc) well displayed. A child can do the laundry.

After 2 days of testing, I was very convinced of the possibilities and it was time to hang the camera at the front door. You will receive a sticker for the drill holes. Very handy in itself, but the hole for the audio/network cable must be quite thick (drill 25 and then hollow it out). As a result, you have to be careful with one of the mounting holes. If you then use your hammer drill mode, it can happen that the wall between the 2 holes breaks and you have an even bigger hole., The screws and plugs that come with the camera are made of inferior materials. Do yourself a favor and buy good screws and plugs.

One thing that really bothered me was the fact that the camera does have PoE, but no audio goes over it. In short, you save a power cable by using PoE (which I find easy) but if you want audio, you have to pull a standard RCA cable to your recording device. And I think that should be possible easily through your network.

The camera is very sensitive, so set up your detection grid correctly, otherwise you will keep getting push messages. The image at night is also decent. But keep in mind that the infrared light makes things in the foreground very bright, making things a little harder to see further down. With me there is a large plant next to the garden path and it is brightly lit, but if you stand next to it you become a little less visible.

The camera also works well with e.g. a synology nas.

All in all, a very good camera with some minor peripheral issues. I will definitely buy another one for the other side of my house
