I understand that this is not an expensive purchase, so I hadn't set my expectations on the highest volume, but I think the sound (even for the price range) is far below level.

In addition, the on / off button, which also serves for louder and softer settings, is very rickety and is also much too finely tuned. The slightest movement and the sound is very loud, causing the speaker to crack.

Actually, you only use the first bit of movement that is in the knob and you never open it more than 10%. Anything above that and the speaker rustles and creaks.

It's under my backup PC's screen, so I've decided to keep it, but for anything more than some system sounds and maybe some YouTube, I can't recommend this speaker.
