Product Expert doorbells

The Google Nest Hello Video Doorbell lets you know who's at your front door anytime, anywhere. Replace your current, wired doorbell with this smart Google Nest doorbell. The doorbell streams 24/7, allowing you to watch live at any time. Do you have a Google Nest Aware subscription? In that case, this smart doorbell will recognize family and friends, and will send you a separate update in the app. On top of that, you can address your visitors with 1 press of a button using the integrated microphone and speakers or by picking 1 of the pre-programmed messages. All images will be stored in the cloud. This has secure encryption, ensuring all of your material is safely stored.

Note: the Nest Hello is a wired doorbell. The installation is complex, which is why we recommend to use a professional installer.

"Google invades your privacy in the name of privacy."

Keith Henry | 17 August 2019 | In the version: Nest Hello

  • Pros:
    It's a doorbell camera.
  • Pros:
    It looks nice.
  • Pros:
You can paint over the stupid status light.
  • Con:
It lets people know if it's working.
  • Con:
It lets people know if you're looking.
  • Con:
Google could change how it functions at any time.

I apologize for using English, but my Dutch is not yet legible.

I enjoyed using this doorbell for a year or so. The camera has a status light that would turn on if you were seeing who was at the front door but it was optional. I turned it off because it defeated the purpose of checking the door before answering.

On August 15th, 2019, Google decided it needed to cover its own legal interests by forcing this green status light to always be functioning. You can paint over it or something, but it serves as a reminder that all the data this thing picks up is going to Google servers and it subject to their whims.

Ivan Ponce | 20 April 2019 | In the version: Nest Hello

  • Pros:
    Amazing design
  • Pros:
    Integration with Nest ecosystem
  • Pros:
    Great App
  • Con:
    No Apple HomeKit integration
  • Con:
    Complicated installation

After some complications with the installation, very happy with the performance of the product itself.

If you don’t feel comfortable with electrical installations, it might be a good idea to bring an expert.
