You can hear the sound of the detector on the floor where it's mounted. The included battery lasts up to 10 years, so you're set for a while. If the battery is almost empty, the smoke detector notifies you with an audio signal. This way, you know when to replace the smoke detector right away. As a result, you never have any unpleasant surprises. Thanks to Apple HomeKit, you can also connect this smoke detector to your other smart devices.
