According to our IP camera expert
With a Eufy Eufycam Duo Pack, you can guard 2 locations around your home, day and night. Thanks to the smart facial recognition, you'll know exactly who's inside. If the cameras see someone you know, they'll let you know in the notification on your phone. These cameras run on a battery and are wirelessly connected to the included base station. The powerful built-in battery lasts a year on average use. Afterward, you can simply charge it again. View the live footage and recordings on the smartphone app. You store footage on a micro SD card, so you don't need a subscription. You can expand this pack to a total of 8 cameras and add the Eufycam 2 and Eufycam 2C cameras.

Last month we also bought the Anker Eufy Duo pack through Coolblue and so far we like it very much.
The set comes in a fairly compact but neat box, well and firmly packed in the characteristic Coolblue way. The set contains a Homebase, 2 cameras with built-in battery and the necessary network cables and power adapter. A 16 GB Micro SD is already installed in the Homebase as standard, and although this does not seem like much capacity, you can certainly record a few months with an average user scenario before it has to be deleted. It is also possible to place a larger card in it. I myself have placed a 64 GB in it, because I live in the city and a lot of recordings are made in a day.
Now after more than 3 weeks of frequent recording both day and night, that 64 GB is only at 13% full.
The Homebase has a built-in battery, looks sleek, works well and installation is very quick and easy. If the power to the Homebase is temporarily interrupted or if it fails completely, you will receive a voice message that it switches to the built-in battery and it can continue to function for 48 hours, very handy!
The status of the Homebase can be read via the colors of the LED.
Don't forget to update the Homebase to the most recent firmware after installation!
Mounting the cameras can be done indoors by means of the supplied magnet attachment and outside with a supplied bracket with screw thread on which you screw the camera (see photo).
The cameras are equipped with an adjustable motion alarm, which you set after mounting so that theft becomes very difficult. The cameras are screwed on outside via a supplied bracket and can therefore not simply be removed. If this is attempted, a 100 DB alarm will go off on both the camera and the Eufy Homebase.
Via the app you can set different usage schedules entirely according to your own wishes, the detection sensitivity and the number or type of notifications can also be set. Via the app you can also configure the settings to have your images forwarded to a NAS, very handy. So you are not tied to an additional subscription as with other brands, but you remain in control of your own images!
In my case, the cameras film various events throughout the day and night and now for more than 3 weeks there is no visible reduction in the amount of water. battery capacity, everything is still at 100%, this can also be seen in the app which works very handy (IOS).
We are going to expand the set with extra cameras in the short term because this is a really good and practically usable product.

I've always been a person who weighs everything before buying. It was no different with this system. I have studied various camera systems and thoroughly examined the pros and cons. Many people will not know it, but this Eufycam was developed in collaboration with Anker, a company that is often known for their quality power banks and audio products. I already had a power bank from Anker and this is a really great product. The fact that all images are encrypted on the homebase (SD card) also appealed to me. No hassle with cloud services and expensive subscriptions to view your own images.
The Eufycam originated as a Kickstarter project, but is now distributed by a few bigger names, including Coolblue, which also points to a successful product. In the end it was settled, this is it.
Since this product is relatively new and there isn't a lot to find online yet, I wanted to take a moment to write a thorough review so that others have a clearer picture of this beautiful piece of technology.
As usual, it was delivered the next day by Coolblue, as agreed. A neatly packaged box that is made like a glove protects the Eufycams and the base station from the store shelf to your home. It contains everything you need, even the SD card is already installed in the base station, which is fairly rare these days and often has to be purchased separately. All cables are also included and 2 ways of attachment.
One is mainly intended for indoor use and the other for outdoor use. However, according to Eufy, they can both be used outdoors, but since the indoor mount works magnetically, thieves with a long stick could knock the camera down. Therefore played it safe and immediately hung the right mounts. For the outdoor mounts you need 2 screws (included, including plugs) to screw the mount into the wall. The inner mounts can be fixed with 1 screw.
Currently, the cameras and images are only accessible via a mobile app for iOS or Android, not yet via a computer. However, on their internal forum, Eufy does state that a web interface is in development and will be released in the coming weeks/months.
When you connect the homebase and link the cameras (literally 1 press of the button) the app immediately says that the homebase and cameras need to be updated. No sooner said than done and in minutes everything was up to date. The app is very user-friendly and by default the settings are almost all ready for use. In addition, a test environment is available, in which you can easily position the cameras to obtain optimal motion detection. Make sure that you position the cameras in an open field, because given the enormous viewing angle of the cameras, you will soon have a piece of wall with you on the left or right. During the day this is not a problem, but at night I notice that the infrared reflects enormously on the wall and the camera adjusts its exposure accordingly, so that you see less far.
I can write day and night about the standard functions, but I'm just going to explain the specifics a little further. (No idea how long these reviews may be)
The cameras can be used as alarms. For example, you can set off a siren on the homebase when there is movement. This is certainly loud enough at about 100dB. The cameras themselves also have a built-in alarm like the homebase. So should a thief try to remove the cameras from the wall, the camera will automatically trigger that it is moving and a 100dB siren will sound on the camera itself, along with the homebase.
It doesn't stop there. Suppose your power fails or the power to your home is deliberately switched off, then the homebase can continue to work for up to 10 hours on a built-in battery. Nice piece of inventiveness if you ask me. As for the batteries of the cameras, I can't say in detail yet that they will last a year, but they have been hanging against the wall for a few months now and are still fully charged.
The homebase also contains an AI that can recognize faces, so you can exclude the permanent residents from sending notifications. The AI is also smart enough to distinguish between humans and animals. The motion sensor also detects body heat outside movement, so you can also ensure that flying leaves do not cause notifications.
A friend of mine came to see me and was very impressed. A few days later he also ordered this system.
What I also think is a very big plus is that you notice that the developers are still busy making new functions. For example, there will soon be a Geofencing function that ensures that the homebase can detect when you are at home and when you are not. Based on this, you may or may not receive notifications.
I'm certainly open to questions, should anyone want more info. But really want to emphasize that this is possibly the best system in its category right now.

I have been looking for such a wireless system for quite some time. Many alternatives have been dropped in advance, partly because of my personal preference not to be forced into paid subscription forms and/or Cloud storage. This Eufy is ideal in that regard; No subscription required and with local storage options on micro SD (included as standard).
Nice to know that the local storage on micro SD is locked. The recordings are only accessible via the app and not when you access the micro SD directly from your laptop. The recordings (mp4) are easy to share via the mobile app.
I can be brief about user-friendliness because it is more than fine. Connecting the Homebase to the power supply and router straight out of the box, one push of the button on the Homebase and the camera and the connection is established literally within 5 seconds. No technical fuss (such as changing router settings). The individual cameras can be charged via micro USB, either directly via the socket or via the Homebase. The camera charges very quickly, especially via the latter option. The addition of a battery in the Homebase is well thought out. Last month we had a power outage for half a day, but the Homebase remained online and working.
Viewing angle of the cameras is very good. You can notice that the width ratios are slightly distorted at the corners of the image, but this is very common for so-called wide-angle lenses. Image quality, especially during the day but certainly also in the dark (camera automatically switches to night vision) is just good and recording is triggered on time from a good distance. I didn't expect much from the sound recording beforehand. However, it turns out that this works just fine! Conversations are clearly intelligible and already from a considerable distance (> 10 meters), despite regular ambient noise. The ability to talk back through the camera is a nice gimmick. Although I personally hardly use it, during testing it turned out that the volume and intelligibility are good.
The cameras have now been hanging here for a month or two. Despite the fact that I spent a lot of time with the settings (you still want to test your new toy), tested locations, etc., the battery of the cameras is still three quarters full, according to the app. Although it has not been in use for a year, I am sure that the claim of “one year of battery life on a full battery” will be met with normal use.
Is everything cake and egg? No, of course there are also some minor points of attention:
I have not yet tested smart functions such as connectivity with Alexa, etc., so I can't say anything about it.
All in all, I recommend the system. The base is rock solid and has the potential to become even more beautiful through updates. I am happy with my purchase.
