According to our NAS expert
Store your pictures, movies, and documents on your own cloud storage with the QNAP TS-231P2-1G. You connect this NAS to your router to connect it to your network. You can then access your files from the living room, attic, and even the train. The TS-231P2 can also create a backup with a push of the button to protect your valuable files. This NAS has 3 USB 3.0 ports and 2 LAN ports. This product includes a Quad-Core 1.7GHz processor and 1GB of RAM by default. I already had a qNap before I bought it, but it was defective. However, the disks do not. My first step was to just stab the discs. The TS-231P2 booted up but was not seen on the network. Only after I removed the disks and rebooted did the device get an IP address. Then I put the drives back in. I got a message that the disks had already been used in a qNap and whether I wanted to save the data. Of course I said yes. The installation seemed to start, but after a long time still nothing had happened. Finally I was able to update the Firmware, and the drives were reinitialized. No more data, but luckily I had a backup. After that, the installation went smoothly. I suspect that with new disks the installation would have been very simple. For its price, the TS-231P2 is very interesting. Certainly not only suitable for Backup. I use it for Streaming via a Sonos One, and also via Kodi on a PC that is connected to my TV. I don't notice any delays or hitches

Just works well, both in the house on the WiFi or remotely easy to operate and set up. For me as a layman certainly a stroke of luck.
