According to our mobile phone expert
The Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro is the successor of the popular Pocophone. Thanks to the powerful Snapdragon 855 processor and the 6GB memory, multitasking is easy and you can smoothly run demanding tasks like photo editing. The 6.4-inch screen has thin bezels and the screen doesn't have a camera, because it pops up when you want to take a selfie. This allows you to watch your favorite films and series without distraction. On the back of the Mi 9T Pro, you can find a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and 8-megapixel telephoto lens, in addition to the 48-megapixel main camera. With the wide-angle lens, large groups or wide landscapes also fit on your photo. The telephoto lens has 3x optical zoom. This allows you to zoom in up to 3 times without making your photo less sharp. The large 4,000mAh battery can easily last a day and charges quickly via Quick Charge 4+. The included back cover offers limited protection. Purchase another case to protect your smartphone from fall damage.

I've been using the Mi 9T Pro for several weeks now. At the time I bought this phone, it was number one on Tweakers as best price/quality with a big 9 as a final mark.. So interesting that (for some still fairly unknown) Chinese brand. I will further explain my experiences per category below.
Battery life: I am very satisfied with the battery life. The Mi 9T Pro has a 4000 mAH battery and with average use this lasts more than two days. If I work and don't use the phone much, I get 3 to 4 days. Also when playing games I lose at most a few percent (with 15 minutes of gaming I lose about 3% battery). At night I have my phone in airplane mode and then I lose about 1% battery on average.
Speed: The Mi 9T Pro has a Snapdragon 855. At the moment one of the fastest processors that exists and that you only see in high-end devices. It will therefore not surprise you that I am very satisfied with the speed. There are simply no tasks that this phone cannot handle. In addition, Mi 9T Pro has 6 GB of RAM. Only in more expensive high-end models do you see more working memory, but that is of little use for the time being. Multitasking is smooth, even when using heavier applications such as games.
Camera: The Mi 9T Pro has three rear cameras and a pop-up front camera. The main camera is a 12 mp lens from Sony. Digitally this camera can take pictures of 48 mp. I was a bit skeptical about that, but this works amazingly well. Both the 12 and 48 mp photos are really razor sharp and of top quality. The 13 mp wide-angle lens also takes nice and sharp pictures (this lens is also from Sony). Only in the corners is some blur visible. The 8MP telephoto lens has 2x optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom. Nice 'extra' camera. Not great photos at 10x digital zoom but still reasonably sharp. Nothing else to note. The front camera is what many people might question in terms of durability. Xiaomi itself states that the mechanism has been tested for at least 300,000 opening and closing times. Of course I haven't achieved this yet.. But the mechanism feels and looks very sturdy. The quality of the selfie camera (20 mp) is also very good. However, the camera app preinstalled by Xioami does not yet work optimally. This can sometimes show glitches. Xiaomi can fix this by releasing an update.
Screen: Beautiful OLED screen with HDR10. Colors are displayed beautifully and clearly and black is really black as you would expect from an OLED screen. In addition, the Mi 9T Pro has Gorilla Glass 5 and is therefore scratch-resistant. Tip: do not use a screen protector. You don't need this anyway with Gorilla Glass 5 and because of this the fingerprint scanner (which is in the screen) can work less well.
Software: Xiaomi uses its own android skin: MIUI. This one looks nice and simple at first and runs smoothly. But Xiaomi is still lagging behind its competitors in this regard. For example, it is very cumbersome to turn on energy-saving functions (not wanting to run apps in the background must be set manually per app). This is something I arranged in two clicks with my previous phone (Huawei). In addition, the camera app can sometimes freeze. These are minor errors that can be easily prevented or fixed. This shows that Xiaomi is still somewhat in its infancy when it comes to software compared to the competitors. The phone is sold with Android 9 but I have had an update to Android 10 myself!
Conclusion: A top device. In terms of hardware, there is really nothing to fault with this phone. It has a sleek finish and everything you expect from a smartphone is in it (for this price even more). Only software moderate points of attention, but these can be solved by updates (and luckily Xiaomi releases these regularly). A real high-end device for a mid-range price. I give the Mi 9T Pro a 9.5. So highly recommended!

Great device, coming from OnePlus oxygenOS required some adjustment and getting used to. Seems a fairly heavy device, but then you have a larger battery.

I deliberately waited 2 months before writing this review + I also want to add that my previous smartphone is the 'iPhone 5s', this to give you an idea of what I was used to before I had this smartphone.
I really have very little to say about it. The choice to switch from Apple to Xiaomi was for budget reasons and I must say that the price-quality ratio with this smartphone is very good. All the reviews written online about this smartphone are really correct, so I don't think I should make this review very extensive. I still have to get used to the size of this smartphone sometimes. I liked to use my previous smartphone - the iPhone 5s - with one hand. This is something I don't dare to do that much anymore for fear of dropping it. This, together with the size of the screen that sometimes affects the gaming, are the only negative points I can mention about this smartphone. And at the same time, these are also positive points, because a large screen (with a very high screen/body ratio) is certainly not negative in itself.
For all the positive points, I refer you to the online reviews & youtube videos. Enough is written / filmed about this smartphone. I certainly do not regret my switch from Apple to Xiaomi. On the contrary, this is a big step forward!
