I had set up a pan with rice and wanted to rinse and dry the newly purchased frying pan (because pans used on gas cannot be used on induction - then the warranty expires), but by then the rice was already boiling (over). I haven't figured out how to quickly lower the heat setting other than pressing - often, or taking the pan off the plate. But it is a big plus that all plates can be operated separately.
