I have had fibromyalgia for a number of years, which manifests itself in hardened super painful muscles and muscle knots all over my body. The only thing that helped (after trying A LOT) was if my husband massaged the hardened muscles very firmly, I would go through the floor of the pain but then the muscles did relax.
