According to our smart light expert
The light strip adapts the colors of the entertainment you're watching on TV at that moment.
You can easily attach this light strip to the television with the adhesive strip.
This Hue Gradient Light Strip emits light in 16 million colors and all shades of white.
You need a Hue Bridge and Hue Sync Box to use this light strip.
You can't shorten this Philips Hue LED strip.
With this Philips Hue Play Gradient LED Strip, you create a unique light effect behind your 65 to 70-inch television. The LED strip has a color sequence, so it smoothly blends different colors at the same time. This way, the whole room lights up in the colors of thrilling movies or when you play a game. You can easily set up the LED strip by attaching it to the back of your television. To use this LED strip, you need a Hue Bridge and Hue Sync Box. You can connect your Hue lights to your entertainment system via the Hue Sync app on your phone, so the connected lights react to the colors on your screen.
The light strip meets expectations. During the day the effect is less visible than at night, this may also be due to the curved TV, which means that the strip is further away from the wall. The light strip works much better than the separate Hue play lamps!

Gives a nicer effect than the loose lamps I had before.. Too bad the bottom of the TV is not covered by the strip, maybe Philips should develop a separate strip for the bottom
