Buying a hygrometer confirmed what I already thought: the humidity in my apartment was far too low (around 28%). I first opted for a Philips humidifier, but I sent it back, because this device made too much noise and raised the humidity by only 2 to 4%. Then I ordered this Duux humidifier, which does its job much better. The humidity goes up by about 20% to 30% - so I end up with a healthy humidity of between 50-60%. I think it's a nice device, much nicer than the Philips one. It can also hold a lot of water, so you don't have to fill it up so often (1x a day if you have it on all day). And the operation is very easy.
Still, this humidifier is not very quiet, especially at night you can hear it, especially the water itself (babbling) but I think most people sleep through this. What I find a pity is that the display is very bright (it gets even brighter when you operate the device). This gives too much light at night. That's why I taped the display. Also because the hygrometer in it doesn't measure correctly - it (logically) measures the humidity right around the device, which is of course much higher than in the entire room in which it is located. You don't actually need the display, because you can use the app where you can see the current settings and humidity.
Another downside is the noise the device makes when the water runs out (and then turns off). These are three loud beeps, which of course will wake you up at night. You can prevent it at night by filling the water tank completely before going to sleep, because the device works for about 8 to 10 hours on 1 full tank, on the lowest setting.
All in all I am quite satisfied, because this humidifier does its job and it is a nice device. And I think in terms of pros and cons one of the better humidifiers you can get.
