We previously had a robot vacuum cleaner that just drove around randomly and bumped into everything. That robot had 2 'sweepers' and reached all corners and along all edges. Unfortunately the battery was completely dead and we had to get a new 'Frits'. This i8 combo is really great! It is a bit bigger than our old Frits, just bumps over thresholds, cables and carpets/mats, makes a little more noise but is so easy to use thanks to the app! The automatic emptying is really a solution! Then it sounds for a moment as if you have a real vacuum cleaner on the Max setting, but that quickly passes. The space it takes up because its Dock must have enough empty space around it was a bit disappointing to me. Unfortunately, that is inherent to a small house. But we solved that by placing the Dock at the foot of a huge plant. You never walk right past that... without wanting to be whacked by the plant. Before you let Frits explore the house to make a map: take away things that shouldn't be there! (Moving boxes, shoes, pile of laundry, weak bathroom mats, etc.) After a while, when Frits has an idea of what your house looks like, you will see a nice card. You can adjust all those rooms and lines! It took me a while before I saw at the bottom of the screen that you can also change the 'border lines' of the rooms. The brushing zones and no-GO zones are also easy to set up. This all works like a charm! But... the edges... old Frits was really better at that. This new one then wipes dirt off the mat/carpet... but does not go onto the floor, the mat edge and then vacuum it up. To be honest, he just misses an extra wiper on the other side. That would really help him to vacuum better and more accurately. Trying to play with zones to get him to do those edges better, but alas. I don't know if something like that can come with updates or if he can still learn it. Which is sometimes strange: then he makes a nice long path, stops in the middle, makes a strange angle and skips a whole part. Goes along a box edge and then does not continue to the end, but somewhere just before the end it goes somewhere else. That's what I meant by a robot with ADHD. Does not complete the ride and therefore dirt remains. But... all in all... we are very satisfied.
