According to our television expert
Thanks to the mini LED backlight, you can enjoy deep black levels and a high contrast.
The Quantum Dot layer ensures rich, pure colors and a high brightness.
With the 100Hz refresh rate, fast-moving images are displayed smoothly.
The TV doesn't have a rotatable stand to turn it toward your viewing position.
With the TCL QD Mini-LED 55C843 (2023), you view detailed images with a high brightness and vivid colors. The screen has a 4K UHD resolution and a quantum dot layer. This layer increases the brightness and color gamut of the TV. The TV shows a strong contrast, thanks to the Mini-LED local dimming. There are thousands of lights behind the screen that light up and dim individually. This makes dark images truly dark compared to bright images. You notice this when looking at a dark sky with glowing stars, for example. Thanks to the 10-bit color panel, the TV has more than 1 million colors. This way, you can see many different color tones in a rainbow on the screen. You don't miss a single thing during action-packed scenes in movies or games, thanks to the 100Hz refresh rate of this TV. All details are displayed clearly, like flying pieces of debris during an explosion. You enjoy a spatial audio with deep tones, thanks to the 3 speakers and the built-in subwoofer. On the extensive Google TV smart platform, you'll find apps like Netflix and Disney+. You can navigate through the smart platform with your voice via Google Assistant, instead of with the remote. Watching a movie or series on your Apple device? You can effortlessly stream it to the TV via your Apple device.

I've had this TV for a week now and I highly recommend it. The image quality is superb! It's a shame that not every program/series supports such good quality. No soundbar is required for the sound. It has 8 speakers that deliver nice sound. Starting up and setting up the TV was very easy. Especially if you use logging in with Google account.
I only game on the Nintendo Switch, but the TV is also recommended for this. The image of the games is nice and sharp. The games run smoothly.

This is a fantastic TV without frills, all image and sound formats are supported without the need for a soundbar or external equipment. Think of DTS-(HD), Dolby Digital Plus, ATMOS - HDR10 HDR10 + Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced where you need an external soundbar with almost all other brands to get anything played at all.
It is a must to change certain default settings to ensure that the image is no longer distorted with faster moving images (Motion compensation must be turned on manually) . And if, like me, you find the flickering image (alternating dark / light) annoying, you have to manually switch off Intelligent Adaptive Brightness / Contrast in the menu. Since the manual lacks any explanation, this was a serious search.

This TV has everything I expect from a TV, a very nice picture, beautiful sound and a good price, with just not too much bass because I am not in favor of that. If you adjust the standard setting slightly, the image will be much nicer and brighter. It was a bit of a shock when the TV was delivered, it is so big, but that was the intention. I measured correctly, it just went in the middle. I hung this TV against the wall on a rotating bracket to easily access the connections. Be sure to buy a decent wall mount for this beast of a TV. What a service, great from Coolblue. You rarely come across this. Worth repeating. If I buy something now, I will first look at Coolblue and compare. A happy customer. Greetings, GR
Godfried
