ECOVACS GOAT O800 RTK

I had a Honda Miimo, but it was stupid, couldn't get up a hill, was constantly detecting objects (tree) over and over and over again. This one does what it promises - pragmatic and effective.

Nice device, but with its white color it really stands out in the garden. Since I have only been using the device for 2 days, I cannot say anything about its durability yet. Some parts look quite fragile. That is why I have given it three stars for durability for now. The first mowing session went well. The manual is quite concise, but the app guides you well through the entire installation. At start-up, a firmware update of the robot and the RTK unit is performed. The update of the robot hangs at 99% for several minutes, but eventually gets through. The supplied pole for the reference station is approximately 1 meter high. That is not enough to have good communication between the mowing robot and the reference station everywhere in an average garden. In case of poor reception, the positioning works very inaccurately and part of a flower bed was destroyed. As soon as the reference station was 3 meters high on the roof of my garden house, the robot navigates very accurately. Mapping the garden is quick and very easy. On one side I used the automatic mode while mapping the garden. However, it then remains quite far from the edge. As a result, the edge on that side is not completely mowed during mowing. The app also shows the reception quality with the RTK unit for all positions in the garden. While mowing, you can follow on the ground plan where it has already mowed.
