Pokémon Legends Z-A Nintendo Switch 2

You arrive in a town where you quickly meet someone who creepily imposes himself on you (give me your phone and I'll put my number in it and install some handy apps for you. Want to come back to my hotel?). I wanted to run away, but that wasn't an option.

Then you can spend a few hours picking up fluorescent power-ups, following arrows on the map, and endlessly clicking through conversations where everything is explained in detail by NPCs scattered randomly throughout the town.

The goal seems to be to reach rank A (you start at rank Z). To achieve this, you mainly have to do a lot of repetitive battles to earn points to enter even more battles. And in between, you have to "quickly" heal your Pokémon, which also doesn't happen in two clicks.

Everything is completely controlled. For example, if you get a "side mission" to find someone's ring, your map will show where it is. I mean...

Maybe the story really takes off once you reach rank A, but I've been playing for a few hours now and it feels like I'm still working through the intro, so I doubt I'll get that far.

I personally find it a fun game to play. The new mechanics, including climbing, jumping off buildings, and interactive battle and capturing mechanics, make it feel like a change from previous Pokémon games. The game also runs smoothly on the Switch 2, and the graphics are smooth. However, the game is limited to one large city (though you can still run around in it for a while), and the buildings themselves haven't received much attention.
