Does exactly what I expect it to do. The small box can easily fit in the meter cupboard, so the slightly humming fan (and noise from the HDD itself) is not really an issue. Suitable for file storage, music and photo streaming. Streaming video is also possible, but only if your videos can be played directly by the receiving device.
2GB of memory (large for a 1-disk NAS) ensures that all kinds of indexing actions and cloud backups run side by side without any problems. The QNAP apps are sometimes a bit cryptic or cumbersome, but they can do everything. And there are also plenty of apps from others if your own apps are not sufficient. The web-based UI is also practical, here too you sometimes have to search for something, but everything is there. And it is infinitely simpler than putting something together yourself with a raspberry.
With 1 disk there is of course no raid/redundancy, but if the NAS is already your backup, that doesn't matter, and you can also easily run backups to a cloud storage of your choice.
All in all, an impressive device for the price. Ideal to ensure that my PC can be turned off and I can still access my things with other devices.
