According to our studio speaker expert
Connect directly: connect this active speaker directly to the audio source without a separate amplifier or receiver.
Powerful and deep bass: thanks to the 8-inch woofer.
Balanced sound: this 2-way speaker delivers balanced sound, so no pitch overpowers the others.
No USB port: the speakers don't have a USB port, so you can't connect your laptop directly.
Reasonable replacement for 55 year old Philips 544 MFB speakers

They sound truly fantastic. Better than expected...ideal for a record player or as a Bluetooth speaker in the living room. I bought two stands myself. Easily adjustable for bookshelves or room setups. Work of Listening EQ and everything in between. Powerful but not excessive bass. A separate subwoofer can be connected if needed.
