Transparent cases can be soft, flexible, and rubbery, or conversely, harder and more plastic-like. This one has softer edges and a harder back. In the photos, it looked like the back was open, partly because there is no MagSafe magnet inside; that is not the case, but it would seem like an interesting design to me. I am personally used to hard plastic cases that provide a "premium feel," so this case lacks that, which does a disservice to such an expensive phone in my opinion. The case feels like it protects against a significant drop, but it does make your phone, which is already quite thick, look a bit bulky.
