Frequently asked questions
Which projection technologies are there?
We distinguish between 4 projection methods: DLP, LCD, LED, and laser. All these technologies have their pros and cons. For example, laser projectors are the most colorful, but it's not easy to replace the laser in case of damage. LED projectors have a long lifespan and are energy-efficient, but are also less bright and colorful. There are also versions such as 3LCD and 3LED projectors. Choose the projection method that suits your wishes best.
How do I choose the light output of a projector?
The ideal light output is dependent on the size of your space and how lit it is. The larger and brighter the room, the higher the light output has to be. 1000 - 2000 ANSI lumen is sufficient for a living room if you can close the curtains during the day. Want a projector for a large, brightly-lit hall? You need a light output of at least 3000 ANSI lumen.
How do you choose the right throw ratio of a projector?
The throw ratio is often confused with the aspect ratio of a projector. The throw ratio determines how far away you can place the projector from your projection surface, while the aspect ratio is about the shape of the projection. Find out where you want to place the projector, measure the distance to the desired projection surface, and choose a projector that fits this.
How do you connect your laptop to your projector?
It's easiest to connect a laptop with an HDMI cable. Most modern laptops all have an HDMI connector, so you can connect the device with a cable to your projector. With a cable, you don't have to worry and you're not dependent on your internet connection. Prefer to connect wirelessly? Choose a smart projector with WiFi casting, or go for an HDMI dongle.
