Despite its compact size, the Liebherr Rc 1401-20 has more than enough cooling and freezing space for my groceries. I can also easily open and close the door thanks to the lever handle. However, I have to get used to closing the freezer compartment.
First impression
When I open the refrigerator, I immediately notice the lever handle. My previous refrigerator had a standard door handle with which I opened the door, but the disadvantage of this was that the refrigerator sometimes created a vacuum, causing it to shift when I opened it. However, this Liebherr has a lever handle, with which I can push the door open without using force, which removes the vacuum. In addition to looking luxurious, I now no longer have a sliding refrigerator. Handy!
Vegetable drawer
I think it is important to eat enough fruit and vegetables every day. That is why I like the fact that this vegetable drawer has more than enough space for apples, bananas, oranges and grapes. The vegetable drawer slides in and out easily, allowing me to quickly make my healthy breakfast every morning.
Flexible layout
Above the vegetable drawer, I have space for a few days' worth of groceries. I can place the glass shelf at 3 different heights. This makes it easy to make room for a pan of tomato soup. I use the 3 door compartments for cartons of milk, soft drinks and my favourite iced coffee. I also put my eggs in one of the door compartments thanks to the supplied egg rack. When I have just put away the groceries, I notice that the refrigerator is quite full. Fortunately, the bright interior lighting helps me keep an overview. I can even find small packages of pate and olives without any difficulty.
Freezer compartment
I like to always have some food in the house, so that I don't have to go shopping every day. That's why it's nice that this table model refrigerator also has a freezer compartment. I open this freezer compartment with the handle on the freezer compartment flap, which I pull down. Despite the compact dimensions, I have enough space for 4 pizza boxes and a package of ice cream. I do have to get used to closing the freezer compartment, because I have to press the flap a bit harder than I am used to.
Little noise
I notice that this refrigerator makes little noise. I regularly heard my previous refrigerator humming and buzzing while working from home. This new Liebherr is remarkably quiet, even when I have had the door open for a long time to put my groceries in.
