Expert review ETNA KIF880ZT
The ETNA KIF880ZT induction cooktop looks sleek and modern thanks to its minimalist lines. I'm most enthusiastic about the flexible cooking zone, on which you can easily grill meats, fish, and vegetables on a grill plate. I also have enough space for all my pans on the spacious cooktop. First impression of the ETNA KIF880ZT
The first thing I notice is the sleek design of the cooktop. The cooking zones are indicated with lines. This way, the cooktop suits a sleek kitchen well. The spacious layout also strikes me right away, because I cook with lots of pans at the same time. I'm most curious about the flexible cooking zone. Does the connection really work for a grill plate? The cooktop is also suitable for 1, 2, and 3-phase connections, so you can also use the cooktop with a regular plug.
Easily grilling thanks to the flexible cooking zone
I first tested the flexible cooking zone. These are 2 zones that you can use as 1 large cooking zone or 2 separate zones. When I press the icons of both cooking zones at the same time, I can easily connect them. That way, I can easily grill vegetables or steak. The octagonal cooking zone quickly heats up the plate and provides heat everywhere. That's useful, as this'll heat up my grill plate evenly and it won't matter where I put my steak.
Wide cooktop with nice layout
The layout of the cooktop is nice. The largest zone for pans like soup pots is on the right side. Usually, it's in the middle. This leaves less space for large pans on the other cooking zones. You can easily fit 5 pans on the KIF880ZT cooktop. The flexible cooking zone is on the left side, so everything can cook nicely while I make the rice and sauce on the other cooking zones.
Quickly boil water and pause preparation
The cooktop has many useful functions. I can quickly boil a pot of water with the boost function. While cooking, I can see a timer running. That way. I'll know exactly for how long my pasta is cooking or my curry is simmering. I also find the pause function very convenient. With a press of the pause button, the cooktop pauses but remembers the setting. I can quickly open the door for the delivery driver that way.
Simple controls, a bit hard to see
I notice that it's easy to set up the cooktop. With the slider function, I can quickly slide it to the right setting. The touch buttons directly react to my touch. Selecting the right cooking zone or connecting them is also easy. The Place and Slide function recognizes the placement of a pan, so the controls light up automatically. In bright sunlight or the bright LED lighting of a range hood, the controls are less easy to see.
Conclusion
The ETNA KIF880ZT is a sleek cooktop with many useful functions. The flexible cooking zone gives me the opportunity to grill on the cooktop. Thanks to the 5 conveniently-places cooking zones, I have space for all my pans. With the pause function, the food doesn't burn when I quickly have to do something else. The controls are simple, but less easy to see in bright light.
