Which Intel processor should you choose?

Every laptop has a processor. It's the heart of your notebook and it plays an important role in everything you do with your laptop. The largest part of our laptops has an Intel processor, the largest processor manufacturer in the world. On this page, we'll help you choose the right laptop with an Intel processor.

Choose a laptop with an Intel processor

When you choose a laptop with an Intel processor, it's important that you ask yourself what you want to use the laptop for. Do you want to use the laptop to:

  • Use the internet and email?
  • Study?
  • Edit photos?
  • Edit videos?
  • Game?
All entry-level Intel Core processors.

I want to use the internet and send emails

An Intel Celeron or Pentium processor will be enough for basic tasks like browsing the internet, emailing, and text processing. If you want to work with multiple programs at the same time, we recommend an 11th generation Intel Core i3 processor. That way, you can be sure your laptop has enough processing power.

Recommended processor: Intel Celeron, Intel Pentium, or Intel Core i3

I want to study

If you use your laptop to type reports, make presentations, or edit a simple photo? Choose a laptop with at least an Intel Core i3 processor. This way, you can open 30 tabs in your browser without problems while you write an essay and stream music.

I want to edit photos

Do you want to edit vacation or wedding photos? Choose for an Intel Core i5, i7, or i9 processor. An 11th-generation Intel Core i5 processor or better offers more processing power over a longer period. That's useful if you want to edit your photos.

I want to edit videos

Editing videos requires a lot or processing power. Especially when you render or edit high-resolution material. An Intel Core i7 or i9 processor is powerful enough for programs like Adobe Premiere Pro. We also advise 8GB RAM and a mid-range video card.

I want to play games

When we're talking about 'playing games', we're not talking about Angry Birds, online poker, or other 'simple' games. If you want to play recent, more demanding games, you need at least an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. Or an Intel Core i9 if you want the best of the best. In any case, you also need a mid-range video card.

For example, with an Intel Evo laptop, you'll have very fast wireless internet via WiFi 6. All Evo laptops have a battery life of at least 9 hours. You can also connect monitors or quickly transfer data via Thunderbolt 4.
