Energieverbruik op energielabel
The energy label states how much kWh (kilowatt hours) the washing machine uses per 100 cycles. The European Union bases this on a full, half-full, and quarter-full drum. The EU calculated the consumption based on the Eco 40-60 cycle. A household runs 220 cycles per year on average. That's why we multiply the 100 cycles of the annual consumption by 2.2. Do you want a washing machine with a low consumption? Choose a washing machine with an A-60%, A-50%, A-40%, or A-30% energy label. Your energy costs are the lowest at a € 0.30 rate per kWh.
Energiebesparing na 10 jaar
You want to know how much a washing machine saves over 10 years. If you buy a washing machine with an A-30% energy label, you save an average of € 31 per year compared to a washing machine with an E energy label. After 10 years, you've saved an average of € 310 on your energy bill. That's why it's smart to buy a washing machine with an A-30% energy label or higher.
Water consumption on energy label
You can also find the water consumption on the energy label. This indicates how much water the washing machine uses per cycle for the Eco 40-60 cycle. Just like the energy consumption, the water consumption is calculated based on an average of 220 cycles per year. This way, you get an idea of the costs. The average costs are based on a rate of € 0.0014 per liter. Keep in mind that the consumption can differ per energy label. Each washing machine can have different water-saving technologies.

To save even more on your energy costs, buy a washing machine and dryer with a low consumption. This way, you save with both appliances. The set with the lowest consumption allows you to save up to € 385 with your washing machine and up to € 340 with your dryer. This means you'll save up to € 725 over the lifespans. We calculate this amount based on a 10-year period with an E energy label.
