Expert review of the Samsung Neo QLED QN90F

The QN90F includes a Samsung One Remote, a manual, the power cord, a 3-piece stand, and a useful quick start guide. I quickly screw the stand to a steel base and complete it with a plastic covering. The TV stands firmly and I can easily set it up. After the installation, the Glare Free matte screen is the first thing I notice. It makes the TV look luxurious and the image quality is high.

Just like other Neo QLED TVs, the QN90F uses Mini-LED local dimming. That way, I can watch bright and high-contrast images. I can clearly see the contrast between a bright pink tree and a dark raven. All color tones are visible in the dark and bright parts of the image. Compared to the QN82F, the QN90F uses more LED lights to illuminate the screen. This makes the TV brighter and the screen has a higher image quality.

The QN90F has a Glare Free anti-glare layer with a matte finish. Bright light sources in our test room don't cause reflections on the screen. The image quality is always high. Light sources are visible on the screen during dark scenes, but they don't cause annoying reflections. This means the QN90F is a good choice if you have a bright living room or if you want to watch TV during the day.

Thanks to the QLED technology, the QN90F shows realistic colors. There's a layer of Quantum Dots between the Mini-LED backlight and the screen. This layer works as a color filter for the LED lights. As a result, the images are brighter and the colors more realistic. In a nature documentary, I can see every shade of green of the forest and every color of the fur of a monkey. It looks like the animal is right in front of me.

The QN90F has a high refresh rate of 100Hz. This means the TV displays 100 frames per second and fast actions look smooth. This means that a ball flies realistically through the air during a sports match and I don't miss a thing during an exciting race. The TV is also a good choice for PC gamers. The TV supports a maximum refresh rate of 165 hertz. Your gaming PC does need to be able to handle this.
