Get started with your Philips coffee machine

Get started with your Philips coffee machine

Step 1: prepare the machine

Plug the connector into the socket.
Remove the water tank.
Fill the water tank with water up to the 'Max' indicator.
Place the water tank back.
Take the lid off the bean hopper.
Add fresh beans to the bean hopper.
Place the lid back on.
Place a bowl under the hot water and coffee outlet.
Press the ON button to turn on the machine.
The machine will now start rinsing hot water.

Step 2: install the AquaClean filter

Take the AquaClean filter out of the packaging.
Shake the filter for 5 seconds, so all granules come loose inside.
Hold the filter upside down in a container with cold water until no more air bubbles come out.
Take out and empty the water tank.
Install the filter onto the filter connector in the water tank.
Fill the water tank with water until the 'Max' indicator and place it back.
Empty the bowl and put it back under the hot water and coffee outlet.
Press and hold the AquaClean icon for 3 seconds.
Press the 'Start/Stop' button to activate the filter.
Hot water will now come out of the hot water outlet.
When the AquaClean light turns blue, the filter has been activated.

Step 3: set the water hardness

Hold the included test strip under running water for 1 second.
Wait for 1 minute. The number of red squares indicates the water hardness.
Turn off the machine.
Press and hold the icon for 'aroma intensity' until all lights turn on.
Tap the icon for 'aroma intensity' 1, 2, 3, or 4 times. There need to be as many lights on as there are red squares.
Press the 'Start/Stop' button to confirm.
Press the 'ON/OFF' button to turn the machine back on.

Step 4: attach the milk system

Remove the security clip on the bottom of the cup.
Remove the sticker.
Rinse the milk system under the faucet.
Dry all parts and assemble the milk system.
Click the milk system into the machine.
The machine is now ready for use.
