How do you get your De'Longhi ECAM 23.460.SB ready for use?

You need:
- 100ml container
- Water hardness test strip
Step 1: connect the coffee machine
- Plug the connector into the socket and check if the main switch on the back of the machine is switched on.
- Remove the protection film from the drip tray and take the instruction booklet out of the bean hopper.
- Take the water tank out of the machine and fill it with fresh water up to the 'Max' mark.
- Place the full water tank back into the coffee machine.
- Turn the selection dial to select the right language and press and hold the button with the tap-icon for 3 seconds to confirm your choice.
Step 2: rinse the machine
- Check if the hot water outlet on the machine is secured and put a container of at least 100ml underneath.
- Press the tap-icon to quickly rinse the machine.
- Once the machine is done rinsing, it'll turn itself off.
- Remove the container.
- Turn the coffee machine back on by pressing the button on the back.
Step 3: set the water hardness
- Grab the included water hardness strip.
- Submerge the test strip in a glass of fresh tap water for 1 second.
- After 1 minute, you can read the water hardness. You'll see 1, 2, 3, or 4 red squares.
- Set the correct water hardness. On the display, press the button with the letter 'P' to open the menu.
- Use the dial to navigate to 'Water hardness'. Press the button with the tap-icon to confirm your choice.
- Select the water hardness that corresponds to the number of red squares on the test strip. Confirm your choice with the button with the tap-icon.
- Press 'Esc' to exit the menu.
Step 4: connect the milk system
- Take the instruction booklets out of the milk reservoir.
- Rinse the milk reservoir under the faucet.
- Remove the hot water outlet from the coffee machine. You can easily pull it towards you.
- Click the milk reservoir onto the coffee machine.
- Your De'Longhi ECAM 23.460.SB is now ready for use.
