How do you reset the water stopper of a washing machine or washer dryer combination?

When your washer dryer combination is leaking, the water stopper will automatically close off the water supply. The water will stop flowing thanks to this, so your floor won't flood. When the water stopper is turned on, your washer dryer combination no longer works. With these 4 steps, you can reset the water stopper. That way, your washer dryer combination will work again.

Reset water stopper in 3 steps

With the steps below, you can reset the water stopper. Check if your water stopper is separate or built into the hose.

  • Step 1. Close the faucet
  • Step 2. Detach the water hose
  • Step 3. Push the red pin
  • Step 4. Attach the water hose
Close faucet

Step 1: close the faucet

First, you close the faucet. Place a bucket underneath the faucet, so you can easily collect the water that's still in the hose.

Detach water hose

Step 2: detach the water hose

Unscrew the supply hose with water stopper from the faucet. Do you have a separate water stopper between the hose and faucet? Unscrew just the hose and leave the water stopper on the faucet.

Reset water stopper

Step 3: press the red pin

There's a red pin inside the water stopper. When you press it, you reset the water stopper. Can't find the pin? It'll be behind the valve inside the water stopper. Carefully unscrew this with a screwdriver and press the pin.

Attach water hose

Step 4: attach the water hose

After resetting, you can connect the water hose to the faucet or separate water stopper again. Put a bucket under the faucet and open it carefully. No water leaking from the hose? It's connected correctly. Open the faucet entirely, so you can start washing again.
