This Samsung QuickDrive washing machine washes up to 9 kilograms of laundry quickly, efficiently, and quietly. It also makes my laundry routine a lot easier. The laundry is clean, I use less detergent, and the whole process is faster. QuickDrive and AI Wash, in particular, make all the difference. However, a full load still takes a bit longer than I'd hoped.
First impression
The washing machine feels sturdy. The silver casing looks modern, and the large AI Home screen immediately catches my eye. A unique feature of this washing machine is that I operate it with a touchscreen, so there's no dial on the appliance. This way of operating it takes some getting used to, but I'm now easily navigating the menu. The touchscreen responds quickly, and with a single tap, I see all the programs. I add extra rinses and adjust the spin speed on the screen. After starting, I can easily read the program duration. I also access all smart functions with apps like Spotify and YouTube via the AI Home screen.
Smart with detergent
AI Wash is, in my opinion, the biggest plus. I fill the reservoir once a month, after which the machine automatically regulates the amount of detergent needed per wash. The washing machine does this precisely by monitoring the cloudiness of the water. This is ideal, because I often used to use too much detergent. With a few taps on the screen, I can adjust the amount of detergent if I have extra dirty laundry.
Fast Washing
The QuickDrive functions work surprisingly well. I mainly use cotton and mixed cycles. I really notice that the time is considerably shorter there than with my previous washing machine. A standard cycle with this Samsung is often finished in 1.5 hours, while my previous washing machine took 2.5 hours. The Super Speed cycle is also handy when I need to quickly wash a few shirts or sportswear. My outfit is clean in just 39 minutes. The QuickDrive shortening function works with 11 cycles.
Large, quiet, and economical
The 9-kilogram drum is large enough for my duvet cover and a large pile of clothes. The machine is very quiet, even during the spin cycle. This allows me to easily have an online meeting while doing laundry in the next room. The washing machine is also very energy-efficient. I appreciate this, as I like to save on energy costs.
Control via SmartThings
It's also convenient that I can control the washing machine with the SmartThings app on my phone. This allows me to easily download an extra program for my laundry, turn the machine on, and remotely track when my laundry is done.
