According to our home cinema set expert
With the Sony BDV-N7200W you get a 3D Blu-ray home cinema set with very unique sound performance. The Magnetic Fluid Speaker technology ¿ originally designed for NASA ¿ ensures detailed sound reproduction. With 1,200 watts of power, the speakers are very powerful. For concert lovers, Sony has recorded the unique audio properties of the O2 London Arena, so you can enjoy authentic concert sounds at home too. On top of that, you can watch all your favorite movies in 4K resolution on the Sony BDV-N7200W. Wireless streaming is easy via Bluetooth and WiFi, and streaming using NFC is even easier; just put one device on top of the other. It's also possible to play media files from your USB flash drive. Thanks to Smart TV, you'll also have access to many fun apps.

This system has been in service for about 2 weeks now, it is our first surround system, so I can only compare with the old stereo chain and the sound of the flat screen TV.
The installation actually went smoothly, everything is neatly labeled, so you can't miss it. Our NAS and other DLNA devices were recognized immediately (only wired network tried), the ethernet port is only 100 mbit, but no problem for streaming, only retrieving the music lists from our NAS can take a while. Communication with our TV (Sony smart TV) went well immediately (HDMI ARC). Only when the TV + surround system starts up, our TV sometimes thinks that the audio system is not active, so that the speakers of the TV are also active, giving you a bizarre echo. With 1 press on the remote control of the surround system, this is immediately in order. The calibration of the speakers also goes quite smoothly, but first test the volume, because if you lower the volume during the test, it will be canceled.
The sound when watching TV is much better than the speakers of our flat screen, especially the low tones sound a lot better. The system only really comes into its own when playing audio and certainly with blu-ray. If you put the system on cinema studio, the film sounds really good.
I spent a few days thinking about the optimal arrangement of the boxes. If they are on the floor, the surround speakers are too low + not useful when cleaning. If I hang them on the wall, the speakers can only be flat against the wall, while for good sound they had to be turned relative to the wall. Then just made wall brackets where the boxes just fit, but then you again have the danger that they easily fall off. A central hole is drilled in the feet of the boxes and screwed onto the support, so that the boxes can still rotate for optimal alignment (hole and screw are invisible). I think this is a shortcoming in the design, that this setup is not provided as standard. I hung the audio bar with a self-made bracket on the wall bracket of the TV, so that it always hangs correctly when we turn the TV differently.
To summarize, we are satisfied with it, but a little more facilities to hang the boxes are welcome.

I've had this set for a few days now. The sound that comes from the home cinema set is really great. After having had a Philips set of much cheaper for this, this is certainly an improvement. The set is easy to connect and there are no more wires running through your living room. Definitely recommended! And the good service from CoolBlue should not be missed!

I've had the Sony for about 3 weeks now. The first impression from the outside is that it is a very nice system with a neat finish. Connecting everything was also very easy. LAN cable in and everything actually worked immediately. I have not used the wifi mode yet.
Included in the box was a quick connection guide. What I actually missed is a comprehensive manual. This will be available digitally through Sony, but I still like to read the book from my hand. Now you have to figure everything out yourself, which I always like to do first.
It is also nice that you can adjust the speakers perfectly with an external microphone. Actually, the system does that itself and in my opinion that gives the best sound.
What I wanted to use the set for is:
The set has many different sound options. Also here I am not yet sure what the perfect setting is. For movies I use Movie or Digital. I think that with Digital the sound comes through best.
Playing DVDs is also fine, the set reads them very quickly. I haven't tried bluerays yet, but I will after the holidays.
The connection from the set to the laptop over the network is also good. It is clearly displayed from both sides. However, not all folders are recognized from the laptop. I suspect this is a matter of setting. I've already shared the folders on the computer, but I can't quite manage it yet.
I have not yet managed to change settings in, among other things, the bass. That was possible with my previous set from Samsung. In some films, the bass of the subwoofer could be a bit louder.
I'm not quite sure where the speakers are yet. I'm hesitating to mount 1 speaker on the wall. This is now on one side of the sofa.
I will describe below the points that I find a little less:
I am also very satisfied with the surround set from Sony. I also recommend this to others. For a reasonable amount, a very good surround set that you can do a lot with.
Delivery via Coolblue was also super fast.
