This fan was an impulse purchase when the weatherman announced a short but strong heat wave last month. I had no experience with this type of tower fans, but went by the positive reviews I read here.

First impression upon unpacking and the (very easy) mounting of the "tower" on its pedestal was that it is a much sturdier and more solid-feeling device than I expected.

From the first test, it immediately became apparent that it was a lot more powerful than I expected... which is of course only positive. With previous, "traditional" fans, my experience was that only the highest setting provides some air movement that is worth it. With this one there is even a pleasant breeze at the lowest setting, while at the highest setting you can already speak of a strong wind (which can be quite pleasant in very hot weather).

From day one, this fan has been installed in our living room, next to the TV. The lowest and middle settings are quiet enough not to interfere with watching TV, only the highest setting may require turning the TV a little louder. So it's a quiet device!
