According to our hair clippers expert
Shaves at 400 different length settings between 0.5 and 42 millimeters.
Suitable for shaving stubble, short beards, and full beards.
You can easily see the selected length on the well-ordered display.
Doesn't have a washable head that would make it easy to clean the hair clippers.
The Philips HC9490/15 give you lots of choice in terms of cutting lengths. These hair clippers have 400 length settings divided over 3 attachments. You can choose a length of 0.5 to 42 millimeters with steps in between of 0.1 millimeters each. The dial allows you to select one of the length settings, and you can read which setting you chose on the display. Thanks to the memory function, the hair clippers save your 3 most used length settings. That is useful, because you can easily begin the next shaving session.
Unfortunately, it does not meet expectations. The coolblue and Philips website states that the clippers can be set to lengths from 0.5 to 42 millimeters in steps of 0.1 millimeters. That is only partly true. Those steps of 0.1 millimeters are only possible if you use the comb attachment. But then the minimum length is 1 millimeter. Without a comb attachment, there is only a fixed length of 0.5 millimeters. If you want to set lengths of 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 or 0.9 millimeters, you can't. If that's important to you, then you should consider it.
For this reason, I am returning the device to Coolblue. Unfortunate

Device does not meet expectations. Use with a setting of 5 to 6 mm, it just leaves hairs. So you have to come back to the same place many times to make sure everything is at the desired length. It is also almost impossible to bring the hair around the ears to the correct length, due to the length of the comb. Had a Remington before for a considerably lower amount, but it functioned perfectly. No more Philips for me.

The Clipper looks great and is innovative with its electronic comb length adjustment.
However, there is a major design flaw in the combs, which break off with clumps. This makes a comb devourer. I have already bought 4 new combs from the Phillips parts store. This makes it an unnecessarily expensive product.
The shaving result is also moderate. On the side of a man's head, he shaves the hairs difficult to 7 mm when he is at 7 mm.
