The Epson Perfection V850 Photo flatbed scanner lets you scan photos and slides. This Perfection-series scanner has 2 lenses. The scanner recognizes which material it's dealing with and selects the right lens accordingly. You can scan photos with a resolution up to 4800DPI and slides with a resolution up to 6400DPI. You can insert your photos and slides into the included holders. You'll receive 2 so you can scan even faster. You can scan odd sizes by simply positioning them on the glass plate. The V850 also retouches minor blemishes such as dust, hairs, and fingerprints, which often eliminates the need for post-editing. The USB cable serves as a power cable, so you won't end up with a mess of tangled cables on your desk.
This scanner works with the following operating systems: Mac OS 10.6 or higher, Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2 or higher.

At my study we also have a number of scanners from this series, and you could not wish for a better flatbat. If you really want something better you can look at a Flextight X1 or a Drum Scanner, but both are a mistake of the price of such an Epson. The supplied software seems to be from the year 2000. It doesn't exactly work by itself, but after some tutorials and maybe even reading the manual you will eventually figure it out. It is quite large, but not huge either and fits perfectly on my desk with two 27" screens. So if you are still in doubt, I hope to have convinced you with this review.

The positive points are all in the hardware of the device, robust, neatly finished, very good scan quality,... Installing the supplied software is certainly no easy task and the result is two control icons and underlying functionalities. The software has many functionalities, so it is indeed a PRO device, but the UI/UX is certainly dated.
