The Ultimaker 3 Extended lets you make complex mathematical models and 3D models, thanks to its 2 printheads. You can mix filaments of 2 different colors and print multi-colored spare parts for your car or motorbike, for instance. You don't need to be standing next to your 3D printer to print out all your creations, because you can send your files to the printer via WiFi. Because the printer uses NFC to automatically detect what type of filament you're using, you can start printing straight away. The Ultimaker 3 lets you create prototypes up to 215x215x200mm in size with a layer height between 20 and 200 microns. It lets you create larger, more detailed objects than the Ultimaker 2 and 2+. Because you don't just swap the printer nozzles, but the entire printhead, the Ultimaker makes it easy to switch between filaments. The casing has a semi-open construction, so it's best to place it in a well-ventilated area if you don't want to be bothered by the smell of burnt plastic.
