Good quality but a compromise for ABS

No closed housing

In itself a high-quality product, but it is marketed as if it can also be printed with ABS. This is a stronger material than PLA and can withstand higher temperatures (eg in the car) and is stronger because it breaks less easily. After a few weeks of experimenting I have come to the conclusion that an open 3D printer is always a compromise. That is the reason that you come across quite a lot of DIY housings on the internet (just Google it), and that is a bit of a shame for an expensive product like this, there are also manufacturers that supply 3D printers with closed housing. The point is that polymers, as just mentioned, shrink quite a bit when they cool down during printing, leading to warping, and a high chance of the model detaching from the build plate. There also the reason for the use of glue on the build plate and other tricks. Here a closed housing helps by keeping the model warm enough during printing to prevent too much shrinkage. Professional devices even have a heated housing. In addition, opinions are divided about the health of inhaling ABS vapors. The Ultimaker is marketed as a device that you can print with on your desk, but that is probably not healthy for ABS printing. Another downside is the somewhat outdated dial / menu. My advice is therefore to look at printers with a closed housing. The use of dual extrusion is questionable whether you need it.
