According to our smartwatch expert
The easy-to-use Polar M200 provides you with the most important information during training. The GPS sensor accurately measures your speed and distance. After your run, you can take your time to review your route. Thanks to the precise heart rate measurement, you'll know whether it's possible to take things to the next level. Choose a goal and follow the personalized training program that tailored to your current fitness. Your M200 also keeps track of your daily activities such as your steps, calories burned, and sleep rhythm. In addition, the sports watch also informs you of incoming calls and messages.
Note: an adapter isn't included. Do you want to charge the watch via a socket? If so, order an adapter separately.

I use this watch for daily use, as an activity tracker and as a sports (running) watch. As a runner and Polar user, I was very satisfied with the use of my other sports watch, except for one thing, heart rate measurement via an HR band. With the release of the Polar M200, this frustration was resolved. I use my watch variously, i.e. when running, cycling, walking and also as an activity tracker. All these features are also present on the Polar M200. You need to provide the watch via the internet, (https://flow.polar.com/), with the fields and sports you want to see on your watch, and that is a great option.
I personally find that useful because you only choose the sports, and you see information screens during your training. Everything else is left behind. If you gradually find out that you are missing something, or see too much information, you can always adjust it in the same way. The activity tracker shows, while the watch indicates time/day/date, with a number of round balls around your screen, how far you are with your exercise goal. Press the right button twice and you can continue to look at the status of your move target.
In training/sport mode, the screen lights up automatically when you turn your wrist to look at the watch face. This is useful in the dark. When used as a regular watch and in the activity track mode, you can activate the backlight by pressing the left button. Wearing comfort for general use is fine, with the heart rate function the strap needs to be a bit tighter and the watch slightly higher on the arm, which takes some getting used to.
After exercise, the data can be transferred in two ways, A: via the USB cable on your PC, or B: via Bluetooth with, for example, your Smartphone. Via the Polar Flow App, (on your smartphone, or on your Laptop/Desktop), you have perfect insight into your training, distances, times, etc. I find the function “Training effect”: gives motivational feedback immediately after the training and tells about the effect of your training session. And “Running Index”: indicates how your running performance is developing.
Connecting to the PC takes some getting used to, you must first remove your watch from the strap and plug the watch directly into a USB port. You also have to charge the battery of the watch in this way. I personally recommend using the USB extension cable and connecting your watch to it, if you are sure that it is in the right place, you can connect the cable to the USB port. This is an extra check that you do not reverse the connection. Physically, the watch fits directly into the USB port, but it protrudes downwards and could be damaged on the table, so I don't use it this way.
in short, for me an ideal all-round watch with many functions, which you can adjust to your own liking. Been using it for over a month and it works great.

Introduction: Initially tried the 2x more expensive Garmin Forerunner 230. I found this too thin on my broad wrist. After my wife got the M200 with white strap and was very enthusiastic, I took the plunge and returned the forerunner and ordered the M200 with black strap myself. The straps are for sale in 5 trendy colors and very easy to change.
General: The watch is a beautiful activity tracker and sports watch in one. I run several races a year and train regularly, this watch offers everything I need. Via https://flow.polar.com and via the App you can load the watch with simple to extensive phased workouts, even tailored (looking at your past performance) programs for races such as 5K, 10K, Half and whole marathon.
Service: The intelligence has, as it were, been moved from the watch to the website and App. However, this does not disturb at all, the watch therefore works very simply. Via the website you can create all kinds of sports profiles with your own preferences for screen displays on the watch. Synchronizing watch with App and website works with 1 push of a button.
Activity tracking: As far as activity tracking is concerned, you can view your training diary in day/week/year overviews very accurately and in beautiful views. See also the screenshots.
Stimulation to exercise: Since I got the watch, I have been very conscious about moving and I make sure that I achieve my goals every day. I wear the watch day and night, the wearing comfort is excellent and so I can even see how much restful sleep I've had.
In short: very extensive options in a beautiful design for an attractive price.

The Polar M200 is a bargain. In addition to a rock-solid design and all the basic functionality a runner can hope for, it has a few advantages that are unseen in its price range. For example, you can upload training programs on it that give you instructions while walking. (Useful for intervals.) The battery life is also great. I walk long distances about four times a week and do sports in the days in between, and have only had to charge the watch after a full week, even though I wore the watch all week and the GPS was on for at least 6 hours in total on.
A disadvantage of the watch is that it took me a while to find the right position on the wrist to get an accurate reading. However, once I got used to it I didn't want to run without it anymore, and I'm already looking forward to being able to follow my training in detail in the coming weeks.
