Pros and cons

According to our iron expert
  • Pros:
With a high continuous steam production of 70 grams per minute, you'll fly through that mountain of laundry, while the steam burst of 260 grams quickly eliminates stubborn creases.
  • Pros:
The temperature and steam settings are automatically adjusted so that you can iron different types of textiles in succession.
  • Con:
The water tank can't be filled during ironing, so you'll have to interrupt your ironing session.
  • Con:
This iron is heavier than the average of 1.8kg, but this also means you don't have to put as much pressure on it while ironing.
Product Expert Irons

The Philips Azur Elite GC5037/80 is one of the most powerful steam irons from Philips. With a continuous steam production of 70 grams per minute, you'll fly through that pile of laundry. And with a steam burst of 260 grams you can remove even the most stubborn creases from your clothing and smooth out stiff fabrics effortlessly.

OptimalTemp technology
The OptimalTemp technology means that the temperature and steam settings are automatic. As a result, you no longer need to sort the laundry first or manually regulate the amount of steam. In addition, this technology prevents burn marks, even if you leave the iron on the clothes.

Switching off and descaling
To prevent accidents, this iron switches off automatically when it's been stationary for 8 minutes. If the iron is on its soleplate, it'll do this after 30 seconds. Descaling is also easy. The lime collector removes the lime from the device. All you have to do is rinse this collector under the tap.
