According to our access point expert
Create a wireless network in a large home, hotel, or school with the Ubiquiti UniFi AP-AC-PRO-E access point. Link multiple stations to the same network and create 1 large network for multiple floors. Because the access points communicate with each other, your devices will always be connected to the strongest station. This allows you to roam the office while video-calling, and it ensures your stream won't fail while moving from the living room to the bedroom. Because the access points are waterproof, you can place them both indoors and outdoors. Configure the WiFi spots with the help of the UniFi software. This allows you to manage all access points in your network simultaneously. For example, set up multiple separate wireless networks with different rights. This way, you can access your private files, but your guests can't.

After first having bought a TP-link eap245 because this was coolblue's choice, after 2 days I exchanged it for a ubiquiti AC PRO because I wirelessly "only" retrieved / wrote large files at an average of 8 Mb/s on my Synology NAS while my Netgear Nighthawk did this wirelessly at an average of 30 Mb/s on the 5Ghz band. Setting up this AC PRO took a while because I want 2 separate WiFi networks, one on 2.4 Ghz and a separate one on 5 Ghz, but on the www you can find a lot about this ubiquiti and its possibilities. Once I had everything configured the way I wanted it, I eagerly ran the test again by writing a large file to my NAS. To my great surprise, this went even faster than my Netgear router does, 35 Mb/s without a problem and just a few drops. For me the 40 € compared to the TP-link eap245 more than worth it. The only drawback I can think of is that the installation takes a little more time than a standard access point, but this is also due to the many setting options, which makes it fun to play with in retrospect. All in all a super device that I recommend to everyone and my next AC for the garden will undoubtedly be another ubiquiti

Own controller possible. It is therefore possible to connect multiple APs without additional configuration.

AC works perfectly! Good range throughout the house to the back of the garden, while AC is not in the most favorable place (meter box). Had an optional 2nd AC in mind but is not yet necessary. AC works with PoE, it was not clear to me when I bought it, so I bought a UniFi PoE switch. Installation is done via unifi controller, a downloadable software package. Took a while to figure out but in itself doable.
