According to our VR headset expert
The HTC Vive Pro is the second generation of HTC Vive VR gaming headsets, in which most initial problems have been overcome. The resolution has been further increased to 2880x1600 (1440p per eye), making games even more detailed. Together with the decreased light bleed, this ensures improved immersion. The wearing comfort has also been improved with a new mounting system with a dial. This makes the Vive easier to put on or to adjust by yourself and the weight of the headset is distributed over your head better. Thanks to the built-in microphones and headphones, you won't need an external headset anymore. This saves you a lot of hassle with cables. The HTC Vive Pro is compatible with all Vive 1.0 accessories if you already own them.
Note: don't throw away the packaging. You'll need this if you need to return the VR headset for repair.

I have had an original HTC Vive for 1 year and have always been very satisfied with it. I mainly use it for flight sims, more specifically DCS world. In VR, this is really an incredibly fun experience. As soon as the Vive Pro was in pre-order, I ordered it. Received today and, ... what an improvement compared to the Vive 1! Definitely recommended for people who play flight sims. With the higher resolution, everything looks much better and text and meters are also much easier to read.
Conclusion: Do you often play flight sims and racing games => BUY! If you play more games like job simulator etc I would leave it alone, the price is too high to justify it for these games. Plus, if you don't own the original Vive, you'll have to spend at least +400 euros on the controllers and base stations! Also keep in mind that you will need at least a Gtx 1080 and a solid CPU with 8GB ram to run DCS world properly.

A real disappointment, so sent back. A lot of godrays in the image and the sweet spot (the part that is sharp in your field of view) much too small. Definitely not worth this money!

I really enjoy my HTC Vive but I wanted better picture quality. To my disappointment, the HTC Vive Pro only gives a marginally better picture.
