Worthy replacement for the Lumia 950 Windows Phone, but..

I come from a Lumia 950 Windows Phone, but after a few weeks of configuring and setting it up, I still get used to it and I still miss many features of Windows Phone that unfortunately do not exist in Android or do not work properly. I mainly use smartphones for my work (a lot of e-mails, a lot of calling, web applications, etc.). In addition, private also to surf and listen to music.

In the first place I wanted a device that takes good photos, for which the Lumias were also known. Tried it first with the Huawei P20 Pro, but it was disappointing. Its camera is highly regarded, but in my opinion that is not justified. The AI there intervenes all the time, resulting in unnatural colours, beautification, oversharpening, .... In addition, little HDR, a lot of distortion at the corners, etc. You had to use it, as it were, in modes that were not intended to take truthful photos. Only advantage it had was the 3x optical zoom and the 5x hybrid zoom which worked quite well. Or yes, if you do nothing but post photos on social media, then that is probably the most suitable phone too.

The photos that the S9 takes are also somewhat oversaturated and unfortunately there is also oversharpening, but fortunately to a lesser extent than with the P20 Pro. In poorly lit conditions, the P20 Pro does a little better, but the results of the S9 are also just good in those conditions.

Despite the fact that the S9 takes beautiful photos, the operation of the camera with the app is simply a disaster if you come from a Lumia 950. It mainly concerns when you want to change the settings manually, which is not user-friendly at all. And taking a photo quickly is also not possible, you have to either swipe the camera or press the on/off button 2x (very) quickly. Then hold the device differently and against all logic, the volume button on the other side serves as a trigger, or you use the touch functionality. In short, taking pictures quickly with one hand is no longer possible (or certainly not easy).

Things I'm still missing:

Live tiles for calendar, tasks and e-mail (there is such a thing as widgets, but they take up a lot of space and don't work very well).
E-mail banners (preview of an e-mail that arrives), that does not work with Outlook and the gmail app does not work so well with Office 365. The batches (e.g. number of unread mails) do not work very well either, or not in the case of Outlook. You have to open the app twice for them to be reset. And you can't see how many new unread mails you have, it is always the total number of unread mails.
Notifications that appear on the screen (mail, reminder, SMS, WhatsApp, ..), even if the device is locked. You can link a sound or vibration, but the smartphone does not wake up to show a preview. You have to do that yourself.. Oh yes, there is an LED that indicates that "something" has happened.
For some reason that doesn't make sense to me, Android has all the most used functions at the top of the apps. This means that operation with one hand is often not possible or you have to stretch your fingers quite a bit. Think, for example, of the address bar of Chrome, on Windows Phone it is located at the bottom so that you can easily access it. In gmail & Outlook all functions such as delete, archive, move to folder are also at the top of the app. Search functions are also at the top by default. You used to be able to adjust that in Chrome with a hack, but unfortunately that function is no longer there.
