I now have this GT-AX11000 as AiMesh router with my previous router (RT-AC5300) as AiMesh node. I use an Ethernet connection for the backhaul. I must say pretty fast and a good range together. In addition, all devices (except an old iPad) switch neatly to the strongest and/or fastest channel. With the standard settings of the AX11000 (smart connect rules) this works fine and in most cases without you noticing. The WiFi connection is therefore quite stable.
