I was looking for a compact amplifier to replace my beast of an Onkyo tx sr606 without having to compromise on quality. The Citation Amp had no trouble at all with my JM Lab Cobalt 810 floorstanding speakers. Masses of power! Also in terms of quality, it is not inferior to the Onkyo or my Denon PMA1500R. I don't think amps should sound. No fancy apps: just chromecast and Airplay. ARC or optical for TV, but that has the annoying effect that the amplifier always switches to TV when you turn it on. Why can't that work?
Volume setting in Spotify was very rough at first, but if you set a maximum volume to 10% via the web interface, you still have fine sound on half a bar and you can still vibrate the neighbors from the couch if you want. This should have been in the manual.
