According to our smartwatch expert
Displays heart rate zones during a workout, so you can focus specifically on endurance or burning fat, for example.
You're quickly informed of messages and incoming calls, because you receive notifications from your smartphone.
You can get insight in your stress level and take action to lower it.
You can't add your own apps to the watch, like Buienradar or NS Reisplanner.
Doesn't have an integrated GPS receiver, so you need to bring your phone if you want to track your route.
The Polar Unite Pink helps you improve your physical and mental health. The smartwatch keeps track of your workouts and shows you how your training affects your body. In addition, you can keep an extra close eye on your heart thanks to the heart rate monitor. Even when you sleep, the watch keeps track of your heart rate and other important sleep data with the built-in Sleep Plus Stages sleep tracking function. Reducing stress is an important part of Polar Unite. The watch gives you daily feedback on how stress affects you. You can reduce stress through useful tips and functions such as mindfulness exercises. In addition to all those functions, you can also view all your messages and notifications on the smartwatch.
Note: an adapter isn't included. Do you want to charge the watch via a socket? Use the adapter of your phone charger or order a separate adapter.
I have been using this Polar Unite for almost 4 weeks now. The watch looks nice, has many options and is easy to use. The watch is available in different colors and wristbands can be exchanged, so you can create different color styles.
In addition to the watch with wristband, the box contains an extra wristband, which is slightly longer. For example, the watch can be used by people with a slimmer or fuller wrist, without having a whole piece of the wristband left or it is too short.
Charging is a bit fiddly. No cable is included, but a USB charging adapter (Unite). This is a kind of elongated plate that you click the watch on and which has a USB end of about one centimeter that can be plugged into your laptop, for example, to charge. If, like me, there is another port next to the USB port for HDMI that also has an HDMI connector inserted, then you can't charge the watch at that USB port because it doesn't fit. If an extension cable had been included, even if only 10 centimeters, this would have been a lot more convenient. From what I can read from the manual, the Ignite version has a more convenient charger that does have a cable. Furthermore, the USB connector is quite thin and can therefore move up and down in the USB port, which seems quite fragile.
Putting on the watch takes some getting used to at first. It is not a regular watch strap. On one side are a ball on which you have to click one of the holes of the other side of the wristband. Then slide the end of the part with the holes through an opening under the part with the balls. After practicing a few times, this got a little easier.
Pairing the watch with the smartphone is very easy. After pairing, the watch will sync to the latest software version. This took me 18 minutes. The Polar Flow app is very clear and provides extensive information about your workouts.
With multiple workouts per day, the battery will be empty after less than 2 days. Fortunately, charging is fast, so you can use the watch again quickly.
You must pair the watch with your mobile phone for the GPS function. Since I always have my phone with me, that is not a problem for me. I did notice a deviation of about 4.5% more distance on the watch than on my phone. The Polar Ignite does have a built-in GPS.
The watch is easy to use and the touchscreen (which is sometimes a bit too sensitive) allows you to quickly navigate through the menus. During the activities you can quickly and clearly see the specifications of the relevant activity on the screen.
The Nightly Recharge function is a very nice one. This provides insight into your sleeping pattern and gives advice based on your sleep.
The Polar Unite is a very complete sports watch that is easy to use. It has a beautiful design and the screen is very clear and well-arranged, partly due to the use of colors.

I've been using the Polar Unite for a month now. This is my first fitness watch and I was very curious how it would turn out. I am very satisfied with the watch! I'm trying to live a healthier lifestyle and this watch is helping me a lot.
I think it's a nice watch. Not too big and neutral, goes with everything. The wristband also looks great, but it does sweat very quickly. After wearing the watch for a few days and nights, my wrist really itch. That's why I don't always wear it at night. On the display you can choose different color themes and for an analog and digital clock. There is only 1 button on it and you control the rest with the touchscreen.
You can track several things with the watch: your activity, heart rate and sleep. I mainly use it to track my activity. Here you can set a goal, you can choose between 3 different levels. The screen shows how many percent of this you have achieved on that day and he fills a ring. To go to the different functions, swipe to the right from the clock, this works fine. Another function is the training proposal. He gives you various options to follow that day, for example cardio or exercises. I have not used this yet, but I think it would be useful for people who are not yet exercising or are starting to exercise. There are many different workouts that the watch can register, which I really like. It then keeps track of the time, the number of calories and the heart rate zones. During the training you can see which heart rate zone you are in. These have different colors and so you can see how you train best. After the training you will see a short summary on the watch itself and a more extensive one in the app. The app works very fine. The watch itself already provides a lot of information, but the app just a little more and so you have a little more overview.
The battery of the watch lasts about 50 hours according to the description. If you turn off the continuous heart rate measurement, it will last longer. I find the charger a bit fragile, you click it on the back of the watch and then you can plug it into a USB adapter. The first few times I plugged it in wrong and then it won't charge.
So all in all I am very positive. The only downside is the sweaty strap. Yet I wear the watch a lot and I have become really more active because of this.

The watch provides good insight into your results. The watch tells you exactly how many calories you burn during your training sessions. The battery life is also decent! After two days I charge it again. You can enter all kinds of different sports. The registration of the night is also super interesting, so you suddenly get insight into your own sleep rhythm. The serene feature: Breathing exercises are definitely a lot of fun and good to try. The installation of the watch with your smartphone is very easy to do, as is the charging. Wearing the watch day and night and when it comes into contact with water is completely fine. It doesn't bother you. The design is also very beautiful. The only thing that took a while was putting on the strap of the watch. Furthermore, the different layouts of your home screen of the watch are fun to switch. The color touchscreen is very easy to use. You can easily stop your training by pressing the button for 3 seconds. That was a bit of a search in the beginning. When you are home after your training, you can view all the results directly on your smartphone. It's almost addictive to burn even more calories the next workout :)
