The good news: the only drawback we have found so far after the switch is that the drawer clicks out a little less smoothly. The entire construction feels a bit less sturdy, but it is still a well-built product. The better news:

The first thing I noticed is the lack of sound. Whisper quiet? No, but it is absolutely not disturbing.
There are nice program options. We mainly use manual cooking, but the options are nice if you don't have a good sense of cooking or want some inspiration. A soft-boiled egg? You can also easily set this while half asleep before your cup of coffee.
