Sony ZV-E1

With the Sony ZV-E1 I take the quality of my videos to a higher level. I find the camera useful for vlogs of days out and my vacation, but also for product reviews in a studio. Because of the low weight I film with one hand. I find that very important with a vlogging camera, because that way I have my other hand free to show something, for example. I am very enthusiastic about the high image quality of this camera. My videos are sharp and smooth. I think a disadvantage is that the camera does not have a double memory card slot. I prefer to keep my images as a backup on a second memory card. That is not possible with this camera.

Sharp images with bright colors I film with this camera in 4K resolution. This produces razor-sharp images, making my vlogs look professional. This is how I distinguish myself on social media. I use a high frame rate of 60 frames per second when I slow down images for a b-roll, for example. This is how I make smooth slow motion videos. When I shoot in S-Log, I accurately edit the colors of my images. This is a RAW image format with a wide dynamic range. The images seem a bit flatter unedited, but in post-processing I make the colors brighter and more realistic. For cinematic videos I use the cinematic vlog setting. In this mode I choose from different color profiles. My favorite is Gold, which gives my videos a warm, sunny glow. This saves me time in post-processing.

Smart autofocus with tracking When I make a vlog, I like to make sure that my images are sharp. I don't worry about that with this camera, it focuses very quickly and accurately. When I switch subjects, it immediately focuses. Thanks to the tracking function, my subjects remain sharp when they move. For example, I film a moving train, which remains sharp all the time. A new feature is framing stabilization. The camera follows my movements, so that I automatically stay in the center of the image. I mainly use this when I film myself on a tripod, for example for a review. If I accidentally move a little bit to the left or right, the camera follows me. This also works well when I'm filming moving subjects, such as athletes. In this mode, the camera crops the image a bit, making the frame smaller.
