Makita DUR193Z (without battery)

Sometimes I don't understand the negative reactions that often give a wrong impression of a product. The Trimmer does what it was designed for. Mowing lawn edges and borders and that's it. If you want to attack thick bushes, you use a brush cutter. If you want to mow the lawn, you buy a lawn mower. The Dur 193Z fits very well in the hand, is not too heavy and the carrying strap is a nice extra but actually unnecessary. It is assembled in the blink of an eye. (Protective cover, handle and ready). Spare wire is included but it is not in a spool and has to be wound up manually. Very handy is that you can adjust the head so that you can work in different positions. Telescopic extension is also a convenience that I already discovered with the hedge trimmer. The only reason why I didn't buy an RT is because I already bought the charger and some extra batteries earlier. The only thing that surprised me a little was that this trimmer only works with one wire. But it certainly works no less well with it. That the thread would break as I sometimes read, has not happened to me yet. In short, the device works perfectly for me and is once again a perfect addition to my Makita LXT tools.

Used once and thread has been completely shot off twice. Afterwards I had to tinker a lot to get the thread right again. Unfortunately, I didn't buy a heavier device without such a wire.

The length and weight are nice. It does what it is supposed to do. But in my round of the garden I lost all the thread 4 times and had to get the lid off the head. That takes quite a bit of force. Refilling the thread is not easy or I am not good at it. With my previous one I could hear when the thread got shorter. With this one I don't think I have that figured out yet. The thread in the spool was also quite stuck. Maybe that is why it is so difficult to replenish.
